Welcome to Kazanluk, the capital of the rose-growing region, known as the Valley of the Roses, is located 200 km east of Sofia, 55 km. east of Karlovo, 48 km. south of Gabrovo and 75 km. west of Sliven.

Located at the foot of the Balkan mountains, Kanzaluk is a great place to visit true bulgarian customs & culture. A great place to escape the fast life and enjoy a quiet time in the middle of Bulgaria.

This is a recent picture of Kazanluk taken April 2008, during the Valley of the Roses. Thanks & credit to my brother-in-law for the picture.

Kazanlak is well-known for its production of rose oil, the importance of which is reflected in the Festival of Roses held in early June. Nowadays the city is known also as the centre of the Valley of the Thracian Kings.
