my key collection

It all started, when my father-in-law gave me an old key as a present. From that time on I looked at the flea markets and brought home loads of keys.

Meanwhile I am well established with my collection and now I don't find keys to suit my collection at flea markets. Now I have to look in antique shops - and this hobby is getting a little expensive!!!

My key collection ranges from Roman times to modern times, from Germany to China, from Rome via Irkutsk to Montana....

... and I am looking for more!!!

I think I will have to get a new picture soon, because I have been quite successful lately.

Collecting bathroom utensils is not that easy, because there is not much to find: dozens of razors (okay, but one is fine for me), expensive perfume bottles (too expensive!!!), one old Siemens hairdryer (which I bought and that still works) and then it gets difficult -

but that is the fun part about it!

This collection is half mine and half my wife's! We have old ink pots, rulers, staplers, pencil sharpeners and things like that! It really looks wonderful on our old desk!

well, actually it is not MY fault: my brother-in-law started off with it, and I liked it and started looking myself!!!!

This collection is relatively new:

we moved to a new appartment that has a garden to it, and since we did not have any gardening tools, we started looking around at fleamarkets - and found some rather oldfashioned things! They make a wonderful museum!

And after my wife bought a book on gardening utensils at a fleamarket, we have even more fun to look around!

Well, our kitchen is fun:

it tells stories about old times, since we have lots of old kitchen utensils from all over Europe! Especially with older visitors it is fun to hear their stories about actually still using these divices!!!

I bought my nutcrackers mainly at different German fleamarkets, but also from Luxemburg and France.

And I got presents from the US and Switzerland, so my collection is VERY international!
