Never thought I would like it there....... Many people know that Rügen is Germany's biggest island and a district in its own right. (Well, I didn't know until now....) But who would have thought that Rügen has 140 km more coastline than the entire Baltic coast of Schleswig-Holstein? Or that Rügen is 10 times the size of the island of Sylt but has only 3 times as many inhabitants? Or that the island gets 100 more hours of sunshine a year than Munich? (Hey, isn't THAT something special???) |
