VISA UPDATE IN OMAN

The visa is called a Single Entry Visa and is valid for 1 month from date of entry and date of issue.
The Visa fee is RO 6.00 (US$ 16.00) and the procedures are as follows:
A) Issued upon arrival at all land, sea and air entry points after filling and presenting the visa application form.
OR
B) Through application to Oman diplomatic missions and commercial representation offices. Passport validity should not be less than 6 months in either case.
Extension of Visa can be obtained for 1 month for the same fee (RO 6) and overstay past expiry will automatically attract a fine of RO 10 per day.

It will be issued to the following nationalities:
EUROPE: Albania, Andorra, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Moldavia, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia(*), San Marino, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Turkey, United Kingdom, Ukraine(*), Vatican City.
SOUTH AMERICAN :Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, Venezuela.
OTHER : Australia, Brunei Dar-es-Salaam, Canada, China(*), Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Seychelles, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, United States of America.

(*) Chinese, Russian and Ukrainian nationals may obtain visit visas following the same procedure, provided they are part of tourist groups arriving to the Sultanate of Oman through a local tourist agent or a hotel or as a family. In the case of groups the number of females must not exceed the number of males.

Common Visa Facility with Dubai :
The above-mentioned nationalities arriving from Dubai to the Sultanate of Oman and bearing an entrance stamp/Visa from the Emirate of Dubai are not required to obtain a separate visa for Oman. The Entry stamp/Visa for Dubai is recognized for entry to Oman, whether individually or as a group, entering through Hatta/Wadi Wajajah land border, air or sea terminals from Dubai and regardless of the sex or age, after filling in the designated forms. alidity is 3 weeks for nationalities, who can obtain visa upon arrival in Dubai (similar to above list, though not identical). Other nationals are allowed to stay for the period of the visa issued to them from the relevant authorities in Dubai. The Omani Visa is free in such a case.

Procedure is to complete a designated joint visa facility form – available at Oman International Airports, seaports and Hatta Fort Hotel on way from Dubai to Hatta border with Oman. This visa cannot be extended and will automatically attract an overstay fine of RO 10 per day beyond the validity of the Visa.

Multiple Entry Visa:
The above-mentioned nationalities can obtain a Multiple Entry Visa valid for 1 year. The holder of this visa can stay in Oman for 3 weeks during each visit. A minimum of 3 weeks must elapse between each visit.
Visa Fee: RO 10 (US$ 27) and the procedures are as follows:
A) Issued upon arrival at all land, sea and air entry points after filling and presenting the visa application form. The visa application for Single Entry Visa and Multiple Entry Visa is the same – asking the applicant to cross out the applicable visa type.
OR
B) Through application with Oman diplomatic and commercial missions. Passport validity should not be less than 1 year in both cases.
This type of Visa cannot be extended and the overstay fine is RO 10 per day beyond the validity of the visa.

Arabic & Indian nationals :
Egypt, Iran, India, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia
These nationalities can obtain a Single Entry or a Multiple Entry Visa upon arrival in Oman through air entry points only. They should have purchased a complete tourist package from specific tourist companies in
their countries which have been approved by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry in Muscat. The package to include the accommodation and the air ticket using a national airline i.e. Oman Air or Gulf Air.

Oman new Number system

Following Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA)’s endorsement of the new
national numbering plan for all telecommunications services (Fixed Line, Mobile
and other services), Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) has revealed a
well structured plan for implementing the numbering change with a theme “Simple
to Follow and Easy to Remember”. According to the new plan, the telephone
numbers (fixed & mobile services) will be changed to 8 digits instead of 6 or 7
digits.

MUSCAT and CAPITAL area ( You need to add 24 befor any fixed phone number) (Done
all) (Some Numbers has completely changed)
example : 00968 674345 ---------> 00968 24 674345
Otehr areas in oman will be like this: Batinah (Sohar)+ Musuandam (Khasab) (add
26 before any fixed number) (well finish at end of Feb)
Dakhliya (Nizwa), Dahira & Sharquiya (sur) (add 25)
Dhofar (salalah), and Wasta (add 23)

All mobile's Numbers will be changed to be 8 digits , by adding 9 to the seven
digit numbers (ex 00968 9xxxxxx --------> 00968 99xxxxxx)
or changing the last number in 8 didgits number to be 9 (ex 00968 7xxxxxxx
--------> 00968 9xxxxxxx)
For mobiles the changing process is starting today 9th Jan untill the end of
feb)
