Even though downtown Millville has experienced a renaissance, the area surrounding the arts district (called the 3rd ward) still has major problems. Millville used to have a lot of glass factories and when those places started going out of business the neighborhoods downtown collapsed and left a lot of people without jobs and very disenfranchised.
