The tiny island of Gozo lies to the North of Malta.
Gozo is much smaller than its sister island, with a population of around 25,000, compared to Malta's 360,000 (approx).
The island's capital is Victoria (also called Rabat), which is situated in the centre of the island.
Regular ferries connect Mgarr on Gozo with Cirkewwa on Malta, and crossings take a little over 30 minutes. It is also possible to travel between the two islands by helicopter.
There are frequent bus services on Gozo linking the capital with coastal settlements such as Mgarr, Xlendi Bay and Marsalforn. |
