Jonathan, fantastic page with very practical info about Split. I will explore the region in September, but vice versa to your trip. I will probably arrive in Split by bus from Mostar.
Excellent advice on public transport - always valuable, especially when it's bang up-to-date like this! I just might check out that fish when we get to Split in a couple of weeks time - sounds pretty good! leyle

Wow, your photos of the Promenade and nearby beach make me want to head for Split immediately! It was very enjoyable to read your other tips as well on the details of being a tourist in this beautiful little spot in the Balkans!
Haha - Riva is indeed quite shiny now. Guess they had some deal with vendors that sell sunglasses ;) Good writing, would love to read more....
