Well, of course Praslin is a wonderful island, too. An absolute MUST: Have a relaxing walk through the " Valle de Mai". That's were the Coco de Mer grows!
Transportation: Do it as most of the Praslins people do - take the bus! Well, I must admit, that sometimes it becomes a small adventure to sightsee the island with these "vehicles", as some of the the streets are very steep and you get the impression the bus would not be able "to make" it at some points ;-) !!!! Well, don't get too scared - they'll manage it in the end! :-)
Car renting on Praslins is not necessary at all in our opinion.
Best beach (anse): Anse Lazio (very beautiful and a small glanze of what you can expect at La Digue) and Anse Volbert.
To reach Anse Lazio, take the bus, get off at the 2nd last station (well ask for it - I cannot quite remember anymore!) and then have an approx. 20 Min. walk on a steep small street over a hill. Puuuuh, how sweatening - but really worth it! (If you do decide to hire a car - well, in this case, it would save you this exhausting walk over the hill - but I doubt very much that the high expense is really worth it just for that ;-) ! )
We have been told, that it is possible to walk over the mountain to Anse Lazio (there is a trail) from a point at the north-west. We did not try it out though, for reasons of hot temperature. For me, an excursion like this seemed to get too exhausting, but it's said to be really great!
