Favorite Thing: All of the Seychelles is wonderful. But - for us - La Digue was the utmost! No traffic (!), only ox-cars and bicycles, these fantastic granit rock formations on white sandy beaches, the absolute clear and warm waters, the vegetaion and the very friendly people having a lot of natural self confidence (this applies for the other islands, too, though), made it our favourite island.
We went in June and had the feeling, that it was a very good time to go there, as there were even less tourists then as usual! But we have been told, there do not exist any bad times really (weatherwise) to go to Seychelles. Just try to keep an eye on "on which side of an island you are staying ( depending on the direction the monsun blows from, there might be tons of seaweed on the beach)!
Mahe is the largest island, beautiful and the one, you can have most activities on.
Praslin is wonderful, too, but compared with Mahe and La Digue, it is only 3rd in range (again - to my opionion). A walk in the Valle de Mai-National Parc (that's were the Coco de Mer grows) was very relaxing and impressive and should certainly not be left out! The nicest beaches on Praslin? Anse Lazio (with beautiful rock formations and a small taste on what you can expect on La Digue) and Anse Volbert. We stayed in a guest house on the West side of Praslin - something I would advise NOT to do end of May/beginning of June, as there were tons of seaweed on the beaches.
Photos: Well, the ones I've taken are really spectacular and the best I have ever had the chance to take! I spent a fortune on pics - but that was absolutely worth it! So if you go there -make sure, you'll take enough films etc. with you! (in case of digital ones: enough batteries and memo cards, as I expect these articles are very expensive over there! )
Fondest Memory: Well, our fondest memories of the Seychelles are indeed the beaches with these fantastic rock formations and the landscape/nature in general. But La Digue is absolutly the TOP!
There is no need really to mention the weather on Seychelles! Beautiful throughout the year - they told us. And if there is rain - it is always warm. We found though, at Beau Vallon Bay, rain seems to stay longer because of the huge mountains in the "back" of this beach! But this could have been a coincidence!
There are no dangerous animals! Apart from the sand flies!!! ( A very important fact for myself!)
