Hanover - not boaring at all

Well, I know that many people living in and around Hanover talk about it as "nothing special" and the rest of the world don't hardly know about the existence of this town. Fact is, that Munich, Berlin and Hamburg are obviously much more popular in the world.

But - and I must point out, that this can only be MY very personal opinion - Hanover is not ugly, not uninteresting and NOT boaring at all! It's great! And all foreign friends we showed "our" Hanover, were of the same opionion.

I myself live outside Hanover, approx. 25 kms north of it. So one cannot really say, I am a Hanoverian.
I love Hanover with its big green areas like the Eilenriede-parc, with the lake "Maschsee", with its nice old part of town, with the absolutely lovely "Herrenhausen" (reminds me very much on Versaille in a smaller version), with the opera and the fantastic "new " town hall. Shopping is great in Hanover, too. And during summer period, there are so many activities free of charge like the Maschseefest - a street party around the lake with many bands and stalls where you can buy food and drinks everywhere. Then the world's biggest "Schützenfest", the Frühlingsfest, street parties in all different parts of the town. there are many cultural events, a street parade etc.etc. etc. ....

And of course, it is known as the town of the largest Industrial Fair of the World and popular for its other fairs like Cebit as well and during fair times, you don't realize you're in Germany - as most of the people on the streets speak foreign languages.

It's a nice town - you'll only must have a closer look with "open" eyes!

Cons:"Too expensive at fair times!"
In A Nutshell:"Hanover - a nice green and relaxing town with lots of things to do and see!"
