Istanbul, the queen of the cities, is one of the cities whom I fall in love. Istanbul with 12 million inhabitants is the biggest european city. Was founded in 658 bc; Byzas King name it Bizancio and it was the name of the city until 1453. Roman Empirer Constantino give Istanbul a new name "Constantinople". With many walls around it was named New Rome (or East Rome). Sultan Mehmet II (the conqueror) established in the city the capital of the Otoman empire since 1453 till 1923.

Great information, I want to see this city soon, THANKS!
The best of Istanbul so far. Suleymaniye is gorgeous, but a little too dark inside. Its position within the city can scarcely be beaten (except perhaps by Yeni Camii).
