The soliders were so attracted to the area, they returned after the war. Many pioneers and former slaves made Melbourne their new home. The town was named after Melbourne, Australia, because the first postmaster spent much time there.
Melbourne is a fast, growing city, and Brevard county is the fastest growing county in the state of Florida.

so many restaurants because it's eating out + shopping + then get outta town. really. what a funny little airport, MLB...I have to laugh every time I see the INTL sign out front. For the commuter flts all the way to Nassau, that's it. ;-)))
