In My Eyes~

Life is amazing and I am never surprised how time can change us as well. I joined Virtual Tourist in 2002, and so much has happened since. For awhile, I wasn't very active on here. As John Lennon said, "Life is what happens to you, while you're busy making other plans." It is the fact that life is a journey, to a greater destination, and I say, let the destination continue.

I am now 35 years old, and I would like to believe that as I get older, I gain more wisdom, or I try my best to always acquire it on a daily basis. I may have an old soul, but a young heart and mind. I have been through my share of laughter, tears, happiness and sorrow. Some things shall never change, despite these emotions. I believe God gave us all free will and that we are capable of whatever our hearts desire, and should have respect for others always.

Memoirs Of A Faint Heart

The human heart is the most fragile thing on this planet. We cannot push a rewind button, or go back on words we have said, moments which have changed our lives. For seven years now, I have been dealing with a "silent or chronic illness", known as Dysautonomia.

It is a mystery to so many doctors and even to myself. I believe God has a plan and purpose for everything in life. It is essentially when your autonomic nervous system is not functioning properly. Many symptoms are diziness, light-headedness, nausea, anxiety, premature atrial contractions, premature ventricular contractions, otherwise, known as certain heart arrythmias, also syncope, or passing out.

I had always been a healthy woman, and for so many times I ended up in the hospital, countless tears, frustration, no answers. I was accused of playing mind games with doctors. They started taking it more seriously when I would be sitting, and I would tell somebody that my heart was skipping eight times in a row, and I told whomever I was with, I think I will pass out, and I did! A few times, I have even hit the floor, not caught in the arms of somebody I trusted and believed would always protect me.

I felt like a burden, saddened by the thought that my life will always be like this. I don't even think I would have over-exaggerated if I said that I have cried a small pond in this span of years. My heart and mind did not want to compromise, or meet in the middle of the solution. Finally, I knew that I had to make some changes in my life. The negativey had to vanish and the realization of all my blessings should be recognized.

I have learned to love walks on the beach more, enjoying the feel of rain, as it touches my skin. When I smell flowers, I also want to touch them, admire their beauty more, and even smile more often, though some may find it strange. It is my nature. My heart may be faint, but my ability to love life, to offer my love, compassion and friendship shall continually grow. This condition will not stop me from living the life which I know is beautiful!
