Water spectacle in the desert

Las Vegas is actually two cities, sin city and one of the largest entertainment venues west of Broadway. If gambling is the main reason for your trip, well I don’t think you need help. It is imposable two walk two feet on the strip without kicking a slot machine.

My trip was aimed at going to some shows and seeing the spectacle. If you want art go to New York City (not the hotel), or the Calder exit at the Bellagio. Other wise sit back and enjoy the fun entertainment.

While it can get pricey going to more than two or three shows on the strip, unless you’re a high roller and get comped, there are lots of free distractions to fill up your off time. From Treasure Islands pirate battle show to the erupting volcano at the Mirage and the water show at the Bellagio, all designed to draw you in inside and gamble. Plus there are exhibits of various themes, art, motorcycles, in some of the nicer hotels.

I one recommendation for anybody going to Vegas, if you like quite of any kind don’t stay at the cheaper hotels. The moment you step off the elevator it is nothing but the clanging of slot machines. The nicer hotels, i.e. Bellagio, Venetian, have lobbies that are separate form the casino allowing you to choose when you would like to go in. This may seem like a pretty frivolous point to bring up for Lags Vegas, but it can effect your time spent in the city allowing rest time out side of your room that is relaxing. Of course after you’ve recouped go back out and have fun!
