Off The Beaten Path: Akaroa-The French Town

It is such a small and peaceful town. About 1.5 hours drive from Christchurch. The reason it is called French Town is because it used to be French colony. You'll find many streets of French name.Apparently, fish & chips is very famous in Akaroa. Public transport is available from Christchurch. You can find out more information at the information centre which is near the Christchurch Cathedral. I think the best way to get there is by car. It is very easy to rent a car in NZ anyways.
