~ Believe me, it was only a week! ~ I decided to embark on a trip to "somewhere in Europe" when I was tasked to attend a conference in Munich. I was thinking, should I go to UK to visit my sister? Or should I go to Morocco, one of those places which I have always wished to go. Finally, I thought I should get my sister out of Europe to somewhere she likes, well, since she was a bit depressed then and moreover I have been to England many times already. Oh! Mind you, depresssion can be a serious psychological disorder (being a psychology student in school, ...). Ok! Ok! I shall go somewhere my sister fancied. After some discussion, the destination was firmed. So, we were going to CROATIA. I started to do a bit of research and realised that Croatia is a new gem of the Medditeranean. Wow!!! I was so excited.
Shucks! The pronunciation of the places were so diificult for me! We decided on a few MUST GO places and they were : - The 'D' Place - The 'P' Place - Split - The 'R' Place - Etc Believe me, you, those were the terms we used before we left for Croatia. It was so funny, right? Geez!
THEN WHAT?? We took a long time to decide that we should do a road trip (that is, self-drive) only 2 weeks before the trip. But the question was, "Where can we get cheap cars?" Bingo! We made up our mind to get the car from Hertz since sis was flying in from London to Trieste, Italy with Ryanair and Hertz usually gives an offer price to Ryanair passengers. No problem at all. Great!
WHAT ABOUT ME? How do I get from Munich to Trieste? Oh god! Good question! Maybe I should try the train. Ok, that was it. Phew! Tickets still on sale although it was the Oktoberfest. I was so lucky, I thought. Well, well, well, I actually I sat along the train corridor for the entire journey as it was so packed and there was no seat available for reservation. ARGHHHHH!!!!! Worst still, the train took me towards Milan instead towards Venice. To my astonishment, I quickly alighted at Padova and a helpful lady assisted me to obtain a ticket to Monflacone via Venice Mestre.
I did not board the wrong train. Apparently, the train "broke off" at Verona station and only half of it went towards Venice. How ridiculous. How could I be so blur? Anyway, I managed to get to Monfalcone safely. From the Monfalcone train station, I then took the APT Bus 10 to the Trieste Airport to wait for my sis arrival on Ryanair from London Stansted.
