How should I describe Melaka ...

Baba Seafood Laksa
I have been in Melaka for a few times. Well, well, well, I am lucky enough to stay in Singapore and Johor Bahru and it is just 2 hours away. Every time I go, I will try some new things.

Honestly speaking, I did not take any notice of Melaka until my most recent trip there. It was a last minute arrangement whereby 3 of us, my sister, my best friend and myself thought we need to take a break from the bustling life we had at work in Singapore. And there we were, in Melaka for a night.

I was more prepared this time round, getting into details on what to do there. Well, my main objective was to take some good pictures there, eat as much local food as possible, etc, so that I could come back and post every experience on VT for fellow travellers.

June 2005

In June 2005, I decided to visit Malacca again. I skipped most of the obvious places like Dutch Fort, Christ Church, etc. Instead, I ventured to more inaccessible places like the Hang Tuah Well, the Hang Tuah Tomb, the beach front, etc.

Of course the Jonker's Street Saturday Night Market was a must-not-miss.

During the day, the weather was so warm that it made me so lethargic the whole day. But it was nice just going down to the beach area to laze under the casuarina trees (despite the fact that I was in the car, but parked under the shady trees).

July 2005

It was on a Saturday afternoon on JB when my best friend and I came to a consensus that JB is a boring place and at the spur of the moment, we decided to just drive up to Malacca.

We were fast in preparation. Grabbed some clothes, got the keys to the house we stayed and off we went on the road. My friend drove very slowly and we reached in 2.5 hours.

Had so much food. Too much to digest I think. Lotsa of nonya kuey and chendol.

March 2006 - VT food safari.
