I Started My South India Journey Here

by bkoon - last update: Mar 15, 2006

Mumbai Municipal Corporation Bldg & CST Station
Mumbai is the city I first landed when I embarked on my backpacking trip to South India. Aadil met me at the airport. By the way, Aadil is a VTer who lives in Mumbai and knows the place very very well. He can be a very good tour guide as well as a great curator at most places.

Aadil hosted me when I was in Mumbai and I really enjoyed his company. Well, I even saw stars using his telescopes on his rooftop. Astronomy is his hobby, you see?
Ok! I shall write about my impressions of Mumbai. I find Mumbai a rather "European" city. Maybe it is due to its history. The architecture are pretty much built the colonial ways, very British, I mean.

Mumbai is a bustling city and definitely a shopping and food paradise. You can find practically everything in Mumbai. It is also very populated and the streets are always busy, even at night. I tasted a lot of food when I was there and I was happily shooting food pictures during every meals.

Although Mumbai is also known as Bollywood, I did not get that "Bollywood" feel. I saw one Bollywood star walked pass me though. I did not recognise him and Aadil pointed out to me.
