I went to Canada when I was in my last year of study.
I stayed in youth hostels and planned a trip with a girl I met in Montreal. We spend three rainy days in Quebec, but saw everything, including some far away waterfall (which is in fact the Montmorency fall, that is higher than Niagara Falls!) which took us three hours in the bus!

Quebec itself is a very calm city with small streets and houses. They have a few nice museums (check out the one about the sea) and lots of restaurants in the towncenter.

Just walk around and let the city guide you, even on a rainy day you will find that it's attractive.
(It's perhaps not as impressive as Toronto of Montreal, but it deserves a visit for more than one day!).

Once I have put my pictures here, you will see that Quebec is a very nice town in the french part of Canada.

Go by plane or by bus. Although you can also get bikes there. Just walk, it is very petit and everyone speaks french. more travel advice
