When I was 15, we went to Paris for the first time. By plane, because my parents wanted us to know how it is to fly (I still love it!).
We saw lots of things in five days. The Pantheon, la Tour Eiffel, le Moulin Rouge, and ate in some very fine restaurants.
Then, at 17, I went there with a friend to celebrate our graduation from highschool. We stayed in a very cheap hotel and did everything by foot. ate in cheap restaurants in the 5th district and sat at the stairs of la Madeleine and le Sacre Coeur. We wanted to go to the Opera, but could'nt afford it then.
After that, France became "my" country and I went to Reims, to study french.
We went to Paris, then also, with a group of foreign students and saw a cabaret in le Lapin Agile.
When continuing my study in Utecht, I went lots of times to Paris, often just for a day, taking the late evening coach. Arriving at six, we had petit dejeuner in the parks or at the Champs Elysees and walked through le Louvre and Musee d'Orsay until the coach reparted at eight.
Now, with my friend, we go almost twice a year just to relive the spirit of Paris! This last time, we did nothing in peticular, just walked. We saw the Eiffel Tower again, skated in front of the Hotel de ville and walked across the canal and the parcs in the sun. And again we had a super time! (But no pictures since we'd forgotten to take our camera)
We also went to see a friend of mine and had a lovely dinner in a very fine restaurant.
And yes, on our honeymoon the last day, as a surprise, my husband took me to Paris to shop!
So now it's Paris again, to celebrate the day that he asked me to marry him and, as usual, we have plenty of things to do. Someone asked me, "why do you go again to Paris? I went there once and now I do not know what to see there". What a pity, because Paris has so many places to go. This year, we want to visit a flea market very early on saturday, and there is an exhibition in the Palais Chaillot. And by al means walking, the Seine, the Pantheon, the Quartier Latin, ah, Paris, here we come again!
- Pros:all
- Cons:so far none.
- In a nutshell:See Paris and then go again, and again!

I loved the Sacre Coeur. People always show photos of the outside. Actually, the inside is just amazing and very beautiful. I really need to go back. We go on tours with our church so we go when and where ever they drag us.
ITS BEAUTIFUL!
