New Zealand smelly?

If you thought that New Zealand was only about fresh air, you thought wrong. Whereas most of the country's air is very clean, since it came directly from the Antarctic and New Zealand is the first country that gets this fresh air, there are some areas of the country that smell absolutely awful. The smelly area is the volcanic plateau on the North Island, and is worst in and around Rotorua. That is why Roturua is also called Rottenrua by a lot of people. The smell is created by the sulphur and smells like rotten eggs or certain stomach gasses. Rotorua is probably the only place in New Zealand where you can fart without anyone noticing. ;-O Not that I have tried of course ;P The volcanic activities are a sight, but remember you have to suffer for it! ;-))
