Nightlife Spot: Melkweg
Great place to go out. There is a dance and Pop arena. The dance part mostly plays rap and that type of music, whereas the Pop arena plays music like rock, pop and oldies. Melkweg is a spot where it's nice to look at other people, becasue there is really a variety in the sort of public it attracts.

Nightlife Spot: Hard Rock Café
The Hard Rock Café is a great but expensive place to have a drink. At the back of the café, outside, they have a platform for boats along a canal. Place your chair here and enjoy the view. Many boats go by and many people to look at. Don't drink your drink too fast, or you'' be broke by the end of the evening.

Nightlife Spot: The Tara
The Tara has quite often live music. A few times I was there the music was terrible, but the atmosphere was great!! The pub is very big with many areas. It feels like a home with lots of little details, a fireplace, easy chairs etc. It's a recommended place!!

Nightlife Spot: Teasers
This place is quite cool. It's all about the girls that work here. They look gorgeous and delicious, but the drinks here are very expensive. One round for 4 people will cost you 30 euros, so keep that in mind. There is live entertainment from the girls. You can get body shots and they do some bar dancing too. Really nice!!! They play funky music all night long...Varying form house and trance to r&b and the latest pop tunes. Audience is mostly male, which is the negative thing about the place. I went here with Sarah (S.D.Arthur) and two friends and we all enjoyed it very much. Sarah even took het digicam and started filming a bar dance by one of the babes!

Rode Baron: Old Dutch bar

Nightlife Spot: Rode Baron
The Rode Baron is a somewhat typical Dutch bar, but then without the typical Dutch Bar music! Good combination in my opinion ;-) The place is quite dark and very very small. There are a few tables with chairs in here so the area on which you can stand is very limited. On the walls are many typical dutch paintings! The hostess is a very nice lady who happens to be thai! She is very small and it is great to see her tap some beer with her hands and arms high in the air in order to be able to do the trick! Drinks are put on an account so you can pay when you leave! Your drinks even get served here, so just sit down and wait to give your order! Drinks are fairly cheap too, so it's great to start your night here before hitting town! This bar is a favourite among me and my colleages, because after work we regularly go for a drink here!

Nightlife Spot: Hotel Arena
Every first Friday of the month you'll have one of the best parties of the city at this stylish venue. ToNight is what they call this section of Hotel Arena. It's a fantastic club and the 90's party is fantastic. The crowd is young, I'd say around 21-35 years old, but everyone is very relaxed. Make sure to get here on time. It's a very poular night spot for locals. If the party starts at 23:00hrs, make so to be there around this time, otherwise you're too late and can't get in anymore, since everyone stays till the end. The entrance fee for party nights differ. 90's NOW is 12 euro's, which is a very decent price. Check out the website for which parties you can expect in the future.
