Kynance Cove - Lizard

Kynance Cove

Kynance Cove

You can find Kynance Cove by taking the exit on the road to Lizard, which is the last town before you get to the coast. You can park at Kynance Cove for 1.50 which is an all day ticket. Profits that are made are directly invested into this National Trust area.

When you've parked the car you have to walk quite a way down to get to the beach. However first you have to cross a slippery rocky section. Make sure to tke care of yourself because you could break an ankle or something worse.

However it is all worth the effort. White sandy beaches, torquoise blueish water (that IS very cold) and if you're lucky some nice weather too! Only take a look at my pics on this page and be convinced that this location should be on top of your list if ever you are in the neighbourhood.

Directions: Lizard Peninsula, Cornwall - Last exit to your right on the road to Lizard.

Crane Ledges along South West Coast Path - Lizard

Crane Ledges along South West Coast Path

South West Coast Path

Before we crashed on the beach we decided to do a little bit of walking on the South West Coast Path. Plan was to walk to Lizard Point, but since the weather was so nice we only walked a short bit. We passed Pentreath Beach, tried to make friends wil Berta the cow, met a lady who tripped over her own feet and fell on her bum, but was alright, and returned again at the point we had a good view of the Crane Ledges.

All in all we walked a little over an hour I estimate. Very well worth it for some grand vistas of the coast with its amazing cliffs. I'm sure that if we had more time we would've walked all the way to Lizard Point, but since we needed some relaxation we headed back to the beach of Kynance Cove intstead.
