Markets: Paddy's Market
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Name of Shop: Paddy's Market

Paddy's Market is quite nice to stroll around. They only have stuff for sale here that you really don't need, so you don't need to bring any money. Well maybe you do to buy a drink.... I think Paddy's Market it a bit over rated, but go and check out for yourself.

    Markets: Market in the Rocks
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Name of Shop: The Rocks Market

Every weekend in the Rocks you will find a very nice, but busy and touristic market, the Rocks Market. It's great to browse through all the stuff for sale here. Most of it is Australiana, and though usually more expensive then in the rest of Australia you have everything here. So if you want to buy everything at one place before leaving the country this would be a good place to do so. And if not, it's nice to see what's on sale in the rest of the country and a good place to compare prices.

    Queen Victoria Building: QVB
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Name of Shop: Peter Lik Gallery

Peter Lik is among the best photographers in Australia and maybe even of the whole world. His specialty is panoramic photography and is truly amazing. Have a look in his gallery at the top floor of the QVB and admire his work.

What To Buy: If you want to purchase some of his work but think it's a tad too expensive you might want to consider buying some souvenir books, that are hardcover and pretty cheap too. But filled with loads of memories of your trip.

What To Pay: A small photo 50 cm wide is about 500 AUD. His books are about 12 AUD.

    Darling Harbour: Darling Harbour Mall

  • Name of Shop: Harbourfront

This is quite a big mall and you will find something for everyone. There are quite a few souvenir shops and also some shops that sell didgeridoos with art by aboriginals. They will get paid when one of their artworks are sold. I always recommend buying at those places rather than some random souvenir shop.

Beside souvenir shops you can find a lot of nation wide stores here with big and some smaller brands of clothes and quite a few food places.

Looking at about 3 weeks. I don't know...I'm *not* planning a strict itinerary. I'm scheduling flexibility. :-) But I'm looking to start at about mid/end of Jul...maybe start from Brugge and head over to Amsterdam and then down, across and up to Groningen
