I've added Shoreline Village because of its location, oceanfront restaurants and view of the Queen Mary. It is possible to see Catalina Island from here on a clear day. All of the shops in Shoreline Village cater to tourists and sell somewhat tacky beach themed souveneirs. There is also a huge carousel for children to ride and a lovely park on the other side of the parking lot.

Wander through the maze of exhibits and view marine life from the Pacific Ocean. The Aquarium is a a non profit organization which seeks to instill a sense of wonder, respect, and stewardship for the Pacific Ocean and its inhabitants. Exhibits include the So Cal/Baja Gallery; Northern Pacific Gallery; Tropical Pacific Gallery; and the Jelly Fish Gallery. The newest exhibit is Shark Lagoon. Visitors can pet smaller sharks(nurse, bamboo, zebra and sand sharks) as well as sting rays and then peer into an underwater tank at an amazing collection of dangerous sharks. The Aquarium is open 9-6 daily. Parking is $2 an hour. Admission is 18.95 for adults. For $30 you can purchase a dual pass for the Aquarium and the neighboring Queen Mary.
