I would consider Friscoe's a family place. It is a 50's style diner where the waitresses are always friendly and also perform songs and dances every so often during your meal. This is my son's favorite place to go for dinner. It is also airport close. The owners are Greek which is why there are a few surprises on the menu, like tasty souvlaki and a pizza made on thick pita bread. The sandwiches and burgers are HUGE!

Schooners is set up alongside the marina. This is a place where people actually go because they enjoy the hour long wait to be seated. Locals will order a cheap bottle of champagne and a large glass of oj to drink while they sit in the sun socializing. THe only people who complain about the wait are either tourists or just plain sober.

Favorite Dish: The speciality here is big American breakfasts! Try Schultzes Mess, eggs, hash browns, mushrooms, peppers, onions and sausage all cooked together in one pan and topped with cheese and sour cream! Yikes. I've never eaten it myself but it looks damn good!

Khoury's is best known for its fabulous Sunday brunch, marina views and warm hospitality. Khoury's is owned and operated by a family of immigrants who have captured their American dream. Reservations are recommended for brunch but not necessary.

Favorite Dish: Bottomless champagne!! Khoury's serves over 100 items for brunch. A few ofy personal favorites are the Lobster Bisque, Salmon Ecrout, Bananas Foster, Curried Chicken Salad, Crab Cakes, Beef & Chicken Kebabs, Seafood Crepes and the omlette station. Save room for the handmade desserts.

  • Restaurant Name: CRAB POT

The Crab Pot offers a full contact dining experience. Order a FEST and watch as the waiter dumps a bowl full of fresh crab legs, oysters, clams, shrimp, potatoes, sausage and fish skewers in the center of the table. You are given a mallot and a bowl to discard the shells in. Primal Fun!!

Favorite Dish: Be sure to order a Blue Sapphire Martini

    Belmont Brewing Company: Pierside Dining

  • Restaurant Name: Belmont Brewing Company

The BBC as locals call it sits at the beginning of the Belmont Pier. Patio dining is available and the restaurant provides outdoor heaters and fleece blankets during the chillier nights.
$1.50 beers , $1.00 fish tacos, and simple California Rolls are available at Happy Hour from 3-6. The brewery also has a terrific wine list, but serves no hard alcohol.

Favorite Dish: My favorite of the 6 handcrafted beers is the Long Beach Blonde. It is similar in taste to the popular hefewizen beers. The blackened salmon is a favorite of mine and is served atop a generous mound of garlic mashed potatoes and fresh corn salsa($13.95).

This place is packed with a festive crowd on the weekends. If you are celebrating a special occasion- as was my friend David, you may even be brought up on stage to for a special dance. This dancers usual partner looked like Antonio Banderas. Rrrrr!

Favorite Dish: Does Sangria count as a food?
