Restaurant Name: Schooner or Later
Schooners is set up alongside the marina. This is a place where people actually go because they enjoy the hour long wait to be seated. Locals will order a cheap bottle of champagne and a large glass of oj to drink while they sit in the sun socializing. THe only people who complain about the wait are either tourists or just plain sober.
Favorite Dish: The speciality here is big American breakfasts! Try Schultzes Mess, eggs, hash browns, mushrooms, peppers, onions and sausage all cooked together in one pan and topped with cheese and sour cream! Yikes. I've never eaten it myself but it looks damn good!

Restaurant Name: Belmont Brewing Company
The BBC as locals call it sits at the beginning of the Belmont Pier. Patio dining is available and the restaurant provides outdoor heaters and fleece blankets during the chillier nights. $1.50 beers , $1.00 fish tacos, and simple California Rolls are available at Happy Hour from 3-6. The brewery also has a terrific wine list, but serves no hard alcohol.
Favorite Dish: My favorite of the 6 handcrafted beers is the Long Beach Blonde. It is similar in taste to the popular hefewizen beers. The blackened salmon is a favorite of mine and is served atop a generous mound of garlic mashed potatoes and fresh corn salsa($13.95).

Restaurant Name: Alegria Cocina
This place is packed with a festive crowd on the weekends. If you are celebrating a special occasion- as was my friend David, you may even be brought up on stage to for a special dance. This dancers usual partner looked like Antonio Banderas. Rrrrr!
