This place rocked! Easily our favorite meal of the entire trip. A cozy and intimate chalet setting which we found in our Lonely Planet guide. Extremely friendly and hospitable staff.

The menu is simple, cheese fondue which comes with bread and potatoe hunks for dipping or one of the meat fondues in which you have a pot of oil and self cook each mouthful of meat.

Favorite Dish: We couldn't resist the chocolate fondue dessert which included banana, apple and strawberrries for dipping.

On our final night in Paris we decided to splurge- just a bit and also initiate ourselves to truly French cuisine. Friends from home had just flown in from Ireland that day and we al agreed that we wanted something special on our only night in Paris together. We found La Truffiere in restaraunt guide in our hotel and were charmed by the idea of dining in an old wine cellar.

The service here was impeccable. I had a glass of champagne in my hand almost immediately. The waiter recommended a truly splendid wine which I have yet to find here in the states.

I would note that the menu does not have prices. We were just a wee bit shocked to find that bottle of wine we enjoyed was 160 Euro and my dinner salad was 29! Don't even ask me what the grand totalwas!

Favorite Dish: Most of the dishes here contain truffles in some form or another.

A nonpretentious little place near the Seine and the Flame of Liberty (aka the Princess Di Memorial).

It is here where I enjoyed my first glass of wine in France!

We enjoyed a carpaccio appetizer and roast pork entree..

It was about 3 a.m. when we asked the taxi driver to take us anywhere that was still serving food. He brought us here and we very grateful that a full menu was offered. I ordered some onion soup to warm my bones, followed by a grilled chicken panini.

Full bar and a great selection of beers and wines. All this with a view of Notre Dame which is in walking distance.

Well known artists and writers have frequented this place since 1914. I went for the hot chocolale which was rumoured to be the best in Paris..Oui, Oui..I must agree. My spoon was almost able to stand up in the cup!

Weather permitting, this place offers an ideal Parisian cafe experience but no one could've been convinced to sit outside in the cold air on the day we were there. This place was packed.

Favorite Dish: For a lite bite try the Quiche Lorraine

Paris shall be savored in the same way than a good glass of wine (of the 160€ bottle kind): No rushes allowed :-)
