Sarah was too young last year to get into the holiday spirit....she is making up for lost time this year however and getting her hands on every decoration within reach. My husband and I began collecting ornaments from each place we traveled to since we met and those are ornaments placed very high on the tree. They are among my favorites. Someday it might be fun to have a travel themed Christmas tree.

MY HOLIDAY WISHES (in no particular order):
That my children remain healthy and happy.

That my children develop love and compassion for all living creatures and mankind.

That Luis returns home safely to us after each night that he spends away at the fire station.

That new doors will open for our friends and family who are struggling this year.

That Luis and I get to travel to one of the following places in 2009:
Buenos Aires, Argentina
Chile
Quebec City
Provence, France
Venice, Italy

That I learn to love my laugh lines :-)

That I learn something new about this world of ours from every person that I meet.

That I NEVER lose hope, faith, or love.

And for something really sparkly or really fast(with leather seats).

June 12th marked a fabulous night and a terrific turnout to celebrate VT member Soulanjuli's return from 13 months in Iraq and honorable discharge from the US ARMY. See my travelouge below for some pics of the festivities!

There are so many defining moments in our lifetimes that it seems impossible to capture any one of them on film.

I am fortunate to have one such picture...this isn't it, but it comes close.

Paradise is not a place that can be found on a map
Instead,It is how you feel
for a moment in your life
And if you find that moment
It can last forever

The simple and ancient things
the things that bring the most pleasure, hardly ever change.

The sea is always the sea
The night is the night
And the stars, the stars.

Over 3 years have passed and I'm still glowing (but slightly chubbier)! Can you believe there were 606 pictures to choose from? Look below for a tiny sampling of the photos that I've been thumbing through...though there are hundreds this one remains one of the most perfect. It is of Luis vowing to my son to love him and care for him (not a dry eye in in the garden after that).
