NYC Metro Taxis Review

NYC Metro - The NYC Subway rivals Boston and Chicago for "mass transit stories." There's always something happening there, but it is cheap, efficient, and if you know what you are doing (hey, even if you don't - we didn't) you can get around for $2.00 where a cab would cost $6-10.

you can purchase all day "unlimited rides" for $7.00, but if you don't know how many trips you'll be taking, it's probably better to get the "multi-ride" ticket. Anything over $10 and you get a 20% bonus. So, a $10.00 card for five rides actually gives you 6.

Car & Limo Service

They may not have the newest model car around, but after 6 different uses to/from JFK, I'll have to say Tel-Aviv Limo delivers. Their prices are very competitive and the cars are in pretty good shape (considering some of the roads and the milagae they put on).

You want new cars? You gotta pay.... when I can save $20 (or more) each way, I'll take a car a couple years old.

Taxis - You will either spend a fortune sitting in traffic going nowhere or praying you will survive the dodging in and out of "high speed" traffic without the use of signals other than the horn.

But in good times, Taxis can be the cheapest and most efficient way to get from one place to another in NYC (if you think the fare is high, just try the same ride in SF).
