Carson City is the capital of Nevada. Like a few other Nevada towns, the major "industry" involves casinos. The surounding mountain area provides ample opportunity for hiking, cycling and in the winter snow sports (some of the best skiing in the west is less than an hour away).
A small B&B found just 8 miles out of Carson City, the Deer Run Ranch, operated by Muffy & David, offers incredible views winter and summer (see below).
the Deer Run Ranch B&B located on Washoe Lake at the entrance to Carson City is a must do facility. The Owners Dave and Muffy are wonderful.
The food is incredible. Muffy's gormet cooking makes the stay an experience not to forget.
