My ex-roommate is a transplanted Vancouverite who reserved nothing but unabashed praises for the city. After visiting Vancouver this summer, I had no choice but to agree with him.
Located where the mountains meet the seas, Vancouver is blessed with temperate weather year-round. With majestic mountains as backdrop, and surrounded on both sides by lush rainforests and the warm currents of the Pacific, it would be hard to imagine a more ideal location for a city.
Vancouver is very green, so much so in fact that you would be prone to forgetting that you're in the middle of an urban area. The atmosphere here is friendly and laid-back. Indeed it's easy to see why people from many corners of the world have decided to come here and make this beautiful city their home.
Native American culture is very much part of the city's heritage. These are totem poles on Stanley Park.
In Vancouver nature is never very far away. The lush landscape of Capilano Suspension Bridge is only minutes away from downtown.
