Only about 45 minutes via ferry from the mainland, one would think Martha's Vineyard is a vacation playground for tourists. To a degree this is true, many places cater to tourists. But the island has plenty of its own character. This is more than a resort island, people actually live and work here. Its small towns are charming, and there are quite a bit of history at each of them. The scenery here is nice, and there are more than just beaches. |

giampiero6 Sun Feb 18, 2007 03:22 UTC brings back some nice memories...thanks for sharing! | ParisSunset Sat May 27, 2006 22:27 UTC As a driver I need to say that MOPEDS ARE VERY DANGEROUS. Every year, mopedists hit sand on the road- usually on the curves around the Martha's Vineyard Hospital- and his bike drives out of control into oncoming traffic, and that's the end of him. | Pawtuxet Sat Feb 12, 2005 00:22 UTC I'm back again...with a couple more votes for good ole Martha's Vineyard. Wonderful spot. | herzog63 Wed May 28, 2003 05:40 UTC Beautiful photos as usual!! I've never been out to Mahhthas!! I've always said I was gonna but never did!! |
