A not so typical photo. Buffalo had their water-bombers up doing pre-season flight training prior to sending 4 (of 8) to Alberta for a large forest fire there. It is a rush to hear them struggling to climb as they fly maybe 200 feet above your house, still dripping water after loading on Back Bay!

Have lived in Yellowknife since 1995, after first visiting in 1986 and living in Coppermine for 3 summers from '89 - '91 while working as an Ocean Lifeguard and swimming instructor.... Travelled all over the Arctic including Old Crow, Whitehorse, Carcross, Teslin, Watson Lake, Ft. Liard, Jean Marie River, Ft. Simpson, Wrigley, Tulita, Deline, Norman Wells, Ft. Good Hope, Inuvik, Trout Lake, Kakisa, Hay River, Enterprise, Ft. Resolution, Lutslek'e, Ft. Smith, Ft. Chipewyan, Ft. Nelson, Dettah, Rae, Edzo, Rae Lakes, Snare Lake, Wha-Ti, Holman Island, Cambridge Bay, Umingmaktok, Gjoa Haven, Pelly Bay, Taloyoak, Rankin Inlet, Nanisivik, Igloolik, Pond Inlet, Pangnirtung, Qikiqtarjuaq, Iqaluit, Cape Dorset, Kuujuak and the mining and hunting camps at Ekati, Colomac, Diavik, Kennady Lake, Whitefish Lake, Graize Bay, Windy Lake, Snap Lake, Lupin, Birch Lake, Defeat Lake, Pellett Lake, Tent Lake, Campbell Lake, Hearne Lake, Tent Lake and the Bluefish Dam.
