Welcome to sunny Leith ! Leith Edinburgh's port. Home of Hibs football team. Ocean Terminal Shopping Mall. Royal Yacht Britannia . Newhaven Harbour & Museum. Restaurants + Pubs. The Shore ! The Water of Leith walkway.Downtown and not Uptown you need to go to Edinburgh for that. In the town's centre, the comparatively recent proliferation of bars and restaurants along the Shore, overlooking the Water of Leith, has resulted in the area becoming a major tourist attraction, particulary at weekends and during the Festival in August. Much infilling of derelict sites has been done, but the destruction of Leith's ancient buildings has at last been halted. Surviving buildings of architectural interest include the Custom House in Commercial Street, Lamb's House {Mary Queens of Scots waited for her carrage to Edinburgh here} in Burgess Street and the late-Georgian houses in Bernard and Constitution streets. |
