Eaton Centre: The Eaton Center
  • Tip Rating:
  • The Eaton Center
Its a nice place to visit, but don't buy anything. Prices are 'way too high! There are lots of other places to shop in Toronto. See "Shopping" for a list of some of Toronto's great shopping malls. ***UPDATE: The Eaton Center has been becoming less of a tourist trap. If you look you can find the odd bargain, but you have to look.

CN Tower: CN Tower--It was not intended for this...
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • The CN Tower was originally built as a communications hub. It is used for broadcasting, cellular relay, and communications trunks. It was never intended to be used as a way to soak tourists. This is the biggest ripoff in Toronto. I have never been up the tower myself, but I have been in the base. Ten years ago the admission to ride the elevator to the top was $14. It is probably more now. Furthermore, there is a restaraunt in the tower, so you have to pay to go up, then pay remarkable prices for mediocore food. I hear from others that the food is OK, but not worth the prices charged for it. In addition, the observation deck has a glass floor. Not a good idea for someone with acrophobia.
Also, if you are daring, you can use the stairs!

At Least Do This: There are things to do at the base, without having to go up.
Alternative: Anything other than the Tower.

you should ask yourself if there was a reason for the decline in police services.. there was not. they have simply adjusted to intervene when its becoming easier and easier to pick criminals out in open crowds as opposed to back alley ways. ownt

Lots of very good tips on Toronto. Not sure I agree with everything you say, but that's what makes Canada great - we can disagree and respect the other's right to have differing opinions. I like that you updated tips instead of just deleting them.
