| Candle Stick Tower in Canyonlands National Park |
Utah is one of my favorite states, but I must warn you if you like lush, green country you will have to take a new perspective to enjoy this state. I find it extremely beautiful, with arches, deep canyons, rocky hoodoos, and red rock mountainsides and needles. So, if you find rugged country with interesting rock formations, and great hiking trails to your taste, you will love Utah. Staying indoors here would be depriving yourself of an unforgettable exploration and adventure in some of the most dramatic terrain in the country. Whether you like long or short hikes, backpacking, horseback riding, kayaking, or simply scenic drives, Utah has it. Utah has five great National Parks, and many National Monuments for anyone interested in the great outdoors, and each one of them offers something different and special. The photo is of Candle Stick Tower as seen from the top of Whale Rock. (For additional photos see travelogue) |
