As a kid whenever we would drive up to Reno we would always bug our folks to stop in Goldfield. As kids do we would always ask... “Are we there yet?” and would be told the standard line that all parents give "almost".
This town was one of the biggest towns in the silver days of Nevada and has some history as to the founding of Nevada.
When you go there be sure to check out the cemetery. It has changed much since I was a kid due to people vandalizing the graves and headstones but it is still worth a look. |
