My Portugal page
Well I have now figured out how this works and decided to put up a Portugal page to capture all the little places in Portugal.
We have now been living in Portugal for two and a half years and I am so in love with this country and the people. I use to visit many of the small towns back in the 80s and 90s when I was working for NATO and always knew that some day I would want to live here. So when the chance came up i took it.
The culture of Portugal is one of life... Live it and enjoy all that it has to offer which is pretty much the way we like to live. You never see many people stressing out about the little things that sometimes get in the way. About the only time I ever see people stress here is when they drive and even then it is just because they can not drive fast or some real slow person is in their way.
Life here is lived from pay check to pay check so the best time to go places without getting into the crowds is near the end of the month as there is not many people at the stores or at the cinema and the restaurants are just about empty. If you are planning a vacation here try to plan it near the end of the month.
This country is also filled with so much history. When you travel around the country it is hard to imagine that these are the people that discovered most of the world and brought back so much to Europe, stuff like tomatoes, sunflowers and potatoes.
Explore the lands and small towns of the north and the south to get a true feel for Portugal and try to immerse your self in the culture that is PORTUGAL.
Take a look at my other pages for information on some of the cities of Portugal.
