Sagres is not the southern most point of Europe but it sure feels like the end of the world. From here you can understand why people thought that the world was flat and that if you sailed out you would fall off the face of the earth.
There is a navigational school that was there and the fort is worth a walk around. This is the place that the Portuguese navigators went for training before going out to sea.
The cliffs here are breathtaking and when there is a storm out in the ocean you get some awesome waves breaking. |
