After a four hour bus journey from Lumut to KL, I discovered that buses were leaving evry hour to Melaka/ Taking the 22.00 gave me enough time to stock up on more books and carry on my journey south uninterrupted. Luckily though the ride only took about two hours and I was looking forward to having breakfast in what promised to be an interesting city :o)

Melaka is the heart of the creation of Malaysia as a nation. The Strait of Melaka has been disputed for hundreds of years hence a city being occupied by four nations: the Dutch, Portuguese, Japanese and British. The first governmental speech to declare independence took place near Afamosa gate.
