Sveta and I visited this town in January 1. We got it by S-Bahn, 40 minutes from Sielmingen. We walked around the city and climb the castle. The city was found in 777 AD. In middle centuries Esslingen was free town and it has numerous local wars for independence. In those times the town became the trade, agriculture and manufacture center of the region. The town was include in Land Baden-Wurttemberg in XIX century. |

Kuznetsov_Sergey Sun Feb 17, 2008 16:56 UTC Oh, my favorite Germany, how I was missing it this year! Thanks Andrey for reminding that there is one more lovely town in baden-Wuerttemberg where I haven't been yet. Sveta is missing this your trip as well I believe. Durasov House is at its place I see. | smithbille Fri Sep 28, 2007 01:34 UTC did you count the stairs going up i did a couple years ago i for got how many there were 297 i believe | Mariajoy Tue Feb 7, 2006 07:22 UTC You have some really good pages on these less well known German towns Andrey - I must explore this lovely country some more! (Btw if you visit the chocolate factory don't buy anything there! it's cheaper elsewhere!) | hekate Wed Jan 11, 2006 11:23 UTC Seems like a charming place to visit... |
