The calm place with huge park around the palace

We visited Alupka during Krym vacation in 2009. I like the place with its huge park around Voronzov's Palaca as well as stone beach of the town.
The first settlement in the area dates back to many thousands years ago. The first city was here in 960 AD. In XIV-XV centuries the place was controlled by Genoa Kingdom. Later it fell under control of Osman Empire. And since 1774 it was a part of Russian Empire.

The Vorontsov palace interior looks very elegant and wish one day I could see it myself. We will hope that comes true. Great comments to go along with the pictures.

Fine photos in your tips and travelogues. The interior of the palace looks very nice, also the park and the surrounding mountains.

Great page, Andrey! I have also been to Ai-Petri by cableway both ways. As a Swiss I just had to go there ;))) Did the boat trip from Yalta to Swallows nest :)

Andrey, fantastic new page about the place of my fridge magnet. *winkygrin* Especially the trip up to the top of the Ay-Petri Mountain sounds gorgeous. Also it looks like you found an almost perfect private accomodation, despite the disco noise.

What a famous place bringing back a lot of memories from far soviet times and then several years ago! We couldn't reach Ay-Petry because of windy weather - canatka did't work... Never saw a beach below the palace - thank you for showing it.
