I've visited Munchecn just after New Year that I spent in Vienna. In January 1st I arrived at the railway station. I spent 3 days here and I liked the city very much (except local prices) :-). In spite of Munchen is a capital of the biggest Land of Germany, Bavaria, the life is not very fast and the spirit of calmness is around you here. I enjoeyd my walkings in the city, with a ot of historical and beautiful places. Besides I met Sabine (sabsi) here and we had a beer tasting with her and her boyfriend. Munchen was founded in XII century and first mentioned in 1158. Since 1180 the city became the capital of local Bavarian Dukes. In 1806 Napoleon made a kingdom here and the Duke became the King (till revolution of 1918). In 1972 XX Summer Olympic games was taken place here (famous by not only with sport events but with terrorist attack to Olympic center). |

scottishvisitor Wed Nov 21, 2007 21:40 UTC Andrew = Munich is indeed a great City I liked your snowy pictures & the swans = but I would prefer a summer visit | Kuznetsov_Sergey Mon Mar 12, 2007 20:21 UTC Thanks Andrew for bringing back memories about one of the most brilliant cities in Europe! I've been there twice but saw only little part of its sights. For example rococo-Asamkirche only through a lattice... Great job! | kiwi Sun May 14, 2006 22:05 UTC Enjoyed your tour of Munich thanks.
