The most European-styled city of Russia I visit the city quite often, related with business trip and just visits for the pleasure. Usually I am in the city 3-4 times at least per year over last years. In my opinion Saint Petersbug is the most European styed city by spirit, by architecture, by people. It is much different from Moscow and other Russian cities. Saint Petersburg, the northern capital of Russia. The city was founded in 1703 by Peter I. It had become the capital almost right away after foundation. Saint Petersburg is the one of most beautiful cities of the world. Many famous architects built wonderful buildings here and the city is the open air museum of the different architectural styles.. Besides there are one of the richest collection of world arts in the city museums. I'm risking to say it's the only city in the world that is so beatiful and famous, with many historical and cultural events that grew in only 300 years!!! It's young beautiful city and I believe there will be another events to keep the glory of cultural and historical place in Russia and in the world. |

HORSCHECK Mon Feb 23, 2009 20:23 UTC So the financial crisis seems to have a positive effect on Accomodation prices in St. Petersburg. :-) | hunterV Mon Feb 9, 2009 20:30 UTC Hi, Andy! Yeah! Nice city and splendid page, THANX! I'd love to revisit this city... | Nemorino Wed Jan 28, 2009 19:07 UTC Great that you saw Lucia di Lammermoor and Aida at the Mariinsky Theatre! (Too bad it costs more for foreigners, though.) -- I've only read your Things to Do tips so far, but I'll be back some other time for more. | Kuznetsov_Sergey Wed Jan 28, 2009 19:03 UTC Hi Andrey! Very good updates since December, 2006 including very fresh ones out of your trip this January. I see you can visit SPB almost every year - you are so lucky! |
