Chinese Palace

I've been in Pillnitz by chance. I had a walk along the Elbe River to Blaues Wunder Bridge. When I got it I looked at the map and saw that Schloss Pillnitz is near by. Thus I decided to go.
Since XIII century there is a town here. In the beginning of XVIII century August I the Strong wished to have a castle in Chinese style. In 1720-1721 the castle was built by Poppelmann architect. Another sight-seeing of Pillnitz castle is camellia brought here from Japan in 1776. Since those times it has been growing here and how many years it is, count yourself please. :-)

Another story with me when I visited Pillnitz is I thought the castle is on the hill. So I have not good eyes and it was imagined to me that there are walls on the hill and I climbed up. So it is just walking paths on the hill. But in any way I really enjoyed it because it was a good walking in the forest. Besides I had a wonderful view of Pillnitz, castle and valley

I visited Pillnitz on my first trip to Dresden back in September 2003, but I must admit trhat I went there by public transport, although walking sounds like a good idea to me.
