The beautiful city of Europe I spent 4 wonderful days in Brussels and those days struck me very much. The city is one of the wonderful palces I've ever seen. A lot of wonderful architecture, many narrow streets and a calm spirit that let you enjoy the place very much. The city was founded in 979 (some legends siad that the city existed since VI century). During the ages the city was moved from one duck hands to other but in the same time the role of the city was grwon. In XV century Duke of Burgundy ruled the area but since 1477 Brussels was under control of Habsburgs austrian emperial family. In XVII-XIX centuries city developed not well cause of the city was moved from one hands to another one again. In 1830 Belgian won for their independence and Brussels became the capital of Belgium. Since those times the city grows and plays important role both in Europe and in the world. As you know Brussels is the capital of European Union as well as the home for NATO organization. |
