I was in Innsbruck over 3 days and the aim of my coming was to watch ski-jump competition (January 4, as a stage of 4-hills tournament. My impressions of Innsbruck is it is not big cosy city with fantastic view of mountains especially in the good weather day. Innsbruck has a name of the first bridge that joined 2 sides of the city. The city was founded in 1138 with building here the market. In 1363 the city was taken under Tirol Dukes control and since 1420 the city is residence city of Dukes. The golden ages of the city in those times are closely associated with Maximilian I, who ruled the region in the end of XV-beginning of XVI centuries. Two Olympic games, in 1964 and in 1976, took place here. |

Nemorino Thu May 21, 2009 12:57 UTC I hope you enjoyed your winter visit to Innsbruck. I also went there in 2006, but in the summer. (Also by train.) | Kuznetsov_Sergey Tue Oct 30, 2007 18:30 UTC Ski-jump competition is a good reason to visit Innsbruck in winter. Pity yuo didn't put any pics from the stadium. I wish to come there in summer one day. Though the Alps are beautiful in all seasons! Thanks for the virtual tour. | mvtouring Mon Aug 13, 2007 14:27 UTC My friend convinced me we must visit Innsbruck and your page just confirmd what she said ;-) | Raimix Wed Apr 4, 2007 09:26 UTC Great page!
