"DUBAI" a Dubai Travel Page by bugulma

I have been to Dubai for 1 week first in 2004 and then for 5 days in 2006. As a matter of fact both times my mother invited me to visit with her the city, second time as my gift to her birthday. But she didn't want to go alone so I went too.
UAE is very interesting country. It had an independence from United Kingdom in 1971 only and during 30 years it has become the real paradise for tourists and buyers. Tourists can find here good service and nice place to have a relaxation. Buyers can find the cheap goods because UAE hasn't import taxes. And the politics of government is to let people to have the best life in the world and to pay money (as taxes) from government treasury (I only can to guess how much they have from oil). What else? I was surprised that there are 750 000 people as citizens of UAE and 3 000 000 people that came to UAE for work. It's impossible to be a citizen of the country if you weren't born in the foreign country, it's possible only to get work visa. The worst thing that UAE people can imagine is to lose the UAE passport!!
The city is very beautiful. I like such cities when I feel it's real city. I hope you can understand what I mean. Besides they want to be similiar on the USA and Europe big cities and you can find here some western style in the buildings. Although, of course, everything has an Arab spirit.
