  • Museum of the modern art is situated in the building of the former railway station. In 1900 it has 16 platforms, hotel and restaurant. In 1939 the station was closed. In 1973 President Pompidou decided to open here a museum of art that belongs to the period from the end of XIX century to the beginning of XX century. The museum was open in 1986. Entrance is EUR 7.00 and the museum is open 10 am – 6 pm.

  • Conciergerie was laid by Phillipe the Fair (1284-1314). Since XIV AD it’s the State prison and during Revolution thousands of people spent here their last days: Marie-Antoinette, Danton, Robespierre, Phillipe-Egalite and others. Nowadays, Conciergerie is a part of Justice Palace.

  • The richest and the most beautiful bridge in Paris is Alexander III Bridge. Tsar Nicolay II had placed the first stone in 1900 and the bridge was open in 1902. One the picture you see one of four 17 meters high pillars. The bridge is rich with sculptures.

  • One of the exciting architectural constructions in the city is city hall. It was built in 1873 and it has 136 statues of the famous historical figures. City Hall is situated not far from Notre-Dame de Paris, on the right side of Seine.

  • Column in Place Vendome was built in 1806-1810, after victory of Napoleon in Austerlitz battle (1805). Originally a statue of Napoleon as a Cesar was on the top. In 1871 the column was tore down but three years later it was reestablished with a copy of the original statue on the top.

  • If you have quite enough time for Paris I recommend you to visit Monceau park (Monceau metro station, line 2). In 1769 Duke of Chartres, future Duke of Orleans, bought the land in Paris and built the garden. In 1861 the park became public and the bridge, the grotto and the waterfall was built here. Many sorts of flowers are grown here. Next time I want to see the park in spring.

  • First I thought both palaces are old because they’re situated in the center of the city. As it turned out both palaces were built in 1900, to the opening of the world exhibition in Paris. In Big Palace the theatre performance and paintings exhibitions take place. In Small Palace there is Paris collection that has sculptures and paintings.

  • In my first trip to Paris the small palace was under reconstruction works and I even couldn't see the facade of the palace. Fortunately I could see the wonderful small palace decoration during my second visit to the city. It is really beautiful.

  • It's my favorite district in Paris. It has its own spirit I'm sure. I can't explain that. I just liked it, its streets upstairs and downstairs. Fantastic place! I had a walking from Monceau Park to Sacre Coeur Basilica and it was one of the most fantastic journeys in my life. You should have a walking in quarters near of the cemetery because on the closed jalousie of the shops there are nice pictures of the local painters.

Even the impression of magnificent cities like Paris can be improved when you have locals like Lio and Marina. Nice page, I better start practicing my bad French for August :)
