Getting TO/AROUND: Realistically speaking, the only way to reach Pakistan is through air. The 3 best airlines serving Karachi are KLM, British Airways and Emirates. There are 3 local airlines - PIA, Aero-Asia and Shaheen - serving all the major cities of Pakistan. However, we strongly recommend traveling by road in an airconditioned mini-passenger vans or 4 wheel drives with curtained windows. Road travel offers good cultural experience as shown in the picture of a young Pushtoon woman from NWFP tending her flock of sheep. Picture of women should only be taken by the females in the entourage and that too with permission.
